Around 150 houses in Towngate, Clifton, are without water this morning due to a ‘failed maintenance operation.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water said: “We would like to apologise to anyone who has been without water this morning. We have been undertaking some maintenance work in Clifton.
“In order to do this we had to isolate a particular part and lay some extra pipe so water could people’s water supply wasn’t disrupted. There has been a technical hitch with that solution and, as soon as we realised that it wasn’t working, we aborted the maintenance and put it back to normal.
“The water should be back on to all properties by 11.30am. We will have to return to carry out the maintenance at a later date.”
