A STATE-OF-THE art computer suite has been unveiled at Honley High School.
An old common room was converted into two classrooms, each containing about 30 computers.
The £150,000 ICT suite was officially opened by head girl Emily Woodings, head boy Archie Fowden and Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney.
Deputy headteacher Heather Rogers said: “We had a very old, very tacky common room and TV room.
“It was an area that was hardly used and was in very poor condition. We have an ever-increasing demand for ICT resources, especially with the need for controlled assessments at GCSE level, and we felt more facilities were needed.
“From the moment the builders handed over the suite it has been fully booked by teachers and students have commented on what a nice place it is to work.”
Mr McCartney added: “Honley is a top-notch school anyway, but this will help them to get even better.”
