POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old was assaulted in Brockholes.
The boy was riding his moped along New Mill Road around 4.15pm on June 26 when a red Vauxhall VXR began driving erratically in front of him.
As he turned right onto Luke Lane, the VXR also turned, forcing the 17-year old to brake to avoid crashing.
He fell from his moped.
The driver of the VXR got out of his car, grabbed the 17-year-old and punched him in the chest.
A passing car beeped its horn as it drove by the incident and the suspect fled the scene in his VXR.
The moped driver received minor injuries.
The suspect was described as a white man in his late twenties or early thirties, of muscular build and with short, light brown hair.
He also had a tattoo on his right upper arm and was wearing a beige T-shirt with a tribal pattern on it and jeans.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Pc Anne Gilliver at the Valleys NPT via 101.
