An 18-year old motorist arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving has been bailed as inquires continue.
A 74-year-old woman was killed when she was struck while on her way to a friendship group at Huddersfield Irish Centre on Monday evening.
She had been dropped off on Fitzwilliam Street when she was in collision with a Toyota Aygo while crossing the road. The car had just left the Castlegate Loop.
The pedestrian from Cleckheaton has not been named but was a senior official with Huddersfield and District Oddfellows.
