IS THIS missing Steven Cooper?

The CCTV image was released by police who are trying to crack the mystery of the Golcar man’s disappearance 20 months ago.

It was taken from a CCTV camera at Tesco Express on Wakefield Road in Moldgreen on September 9.

As reported yesterday, Steven’s family were given fresh hope that he was still alive following two reported sightings in Huddersfield.

The first was at Church Lane in Newsome on August 21.

Investigations have since discounted that sighting. But, after viewing the footage from the Tesco Express camera, Mr Cooper’s relatives believe the second sighting, reported by a family friend, could be him.

Police have now called on the person pictured to contact them.

A spokesman said: “If you are the person captured on the CCTV footage or if you recognise who this is, please contact the Kirklees missing persons co-ordinators.”

Mr Cooper vanished from his Scar Lane home in Golcar on his 47th birthday, January 21 last year.

His abandoned car was discovered in a remote area near Loch Laggan in northern Scotland. Despite a major search operation, he was never found.
