DRUGS worth £20,000 have been seized by police in Kirklees.

Eight people have been arrested after police from Kirklees District Drugs Team stopped a car and then discovered drugs at houses.

The car was stopped by police in the Seacroft area of Leeds at 8pm yesterday.

Officers searched the vehicle and this led to further searches of homes in Ravensthorpe.

A police spokeswoman said: "I can confirm that class A and class C drugs with a street value of £20,000 have been found."

Eight people have been arrested so far and are being questioned at police stations in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

Further houses were due to be searched today and the investigation is ongoing.
