A TOTAL of 25,000 new training places and jobs could be created in West Yorkshire as part of the Conservative Party’s plans to tackle unemployment.

Shadow Chancellor George Osborne and David Freud, Shadow Minister for Welfare Reform, told the region’s business leaders the plans would open up new opportunities for people.

The regional promise for more job opportunities follows the Tories’ national pledge to create 100,000 apprenticeships alongside 50,000 additional training places.
