THREE men have been charged with a ram raid at a Huddersfield post office.

The attack on Lepton Post Office on Highgate Lane in the village just before 2am on Tuesday left a huge hole in the wall.

A Mitsubishi Shogun had been used to cause the damage.

The office will be closed for up to 10 days while major repairs are carried out.

Three men were arrested in Esholt near Bradford after a car chase across West Yorkshire involving the police helicopter.

They are a 22-year-old from Birkby, a 27-year-old from the East Bowling area of Bradford and a 32-year-old from Leeds.

All have been charged with burglary. They are also accused of stealing two cars and will appear before Huddersfield magistrates today.
