OAKES Scout Group is seeking £5,000 towards the cost of renovating its headquarters.
The group - officially known as the 36th Huddersfield North Scouts - is based in an old building on Lyndhurst Road at Lindley.
The Scout group was originally based at Oakes Baptist Church when it formed 50 years ago.
About 30 years ago it moved to Lynd- hurst Road and although decorations have changed no major maintenance work has been done to the building since.
The group recently raised £12,000 to fix the building's roof.
Now, members are planning a total renovation of the building, costing about £25,000.
