WE'RE heading for a very soggy December!

More rain lashed Huddersfield overnight - bringing the total rainfall since December 1 to 53mm (2¼ins), which is the normal average for the whole month.

And Huddersfield meteorologist Paul Stevens warned: There's more rain on the way.

Stevens said that more storms are likely over the next 48 horus, with heavy showers and strong winds gusting at up to 60mph.

"It may mean some minor structural damage for some and a big risk of flooding in some areas.

"But it is remaining remarkably mild, and that is set to continue at least until the weekend."
