A MOTHER'S last act of kindness has raised £739 for cancer services in Huddersfield.
Before Mrs Norma Fox died from cancer last month she had stipulated family flowers only at her funeral and asked other relatives and friends to give donations instead.
The money was collected after the service at Huddersfield Crematorium and has now been donated to the oncology wards - wards three and 12 - at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Mrs Fox, of New Road, Kirkheaton, was the stewardess at Kirkheaton Liberal Club for about 11 years until three years ago.
She then worked behind the bar one night a week at Kirkheaton Conservative Club until about six weeks ago.
She leaves a husband, Peter, and four children, Lisa, Michelle, Shaun and David.
