A PENSIONER was killed in a freak accident with a quad bike in Halifax.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 75-year-old woman died when she was struck by the quad bike as she was standing on the pavement at King Cross Street yesterday afternoon.
The bike had been in collision with a Ford Mondeo and mounted the pavement.
The incident was just after 1.50pm as the Mondeo was travelling along King Cross Street from King Cross.
The driver was about to turn right on to Regent Street when it collided with the quad bike which was travelling along King Cross Street from Halifax.
The collision caused the quad bike to spin and fatally injure the pedestrian.
The rider of the quad bike was taken to the Calderdale Royal Hospital where he is believed to be in a stable condition.
