AN 86-YEAR-old Lindley woman was the victim of an attempted distraction burglary.

The bogus caller claimed he was from the water board and entered the woman’s home in Whitteron Close at 6pm on November 10.

He told the victim that he needed to check the water supply as there was some dye in it.

The suspect stayed in the house for several minutes but was constantly watched by the woman who kept him in the kitchen whilst also watching her front door. The suspect then left.

Nothing was stolen in the incident.

The suspect was described as a white man, around 40 and 5ft 5ins tall. He was slim and wore dark clothing.

The suspect did not have ID.
