CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save a local beauty spot have been hard at work.
They carried out a big clean-up at Clayton Fields, between Edgerton and Birkby.
The group wants to preserve the area as open green space.
Mike Hardy said: “It was interesting to note that the field is obviously much respected as the rubbish was all small and probably thrown from passing cars or windblown, like crisp packets, polystyrene food containers and drink bottles. There were no signs of fly tipping”.
