LITTLE Acorns Day Nursery in Meltham has been awarded a gold award for the nutritious menus offered to the children that attend.
The nursery was inspected by Kirklees Council earlier this month and was given top marks for its menus and the variety of food offered.
Inspectors also commented on the high attention given to health and hygiene.
The nursery looks forward to displaying its Healthy Eating Certificate.
Jill Harman, owner of Little Acorns, said, "Our food is all delivered fresh and cooks make everything from scratch.
"Careful thought is given to our menus in terms of variety and nutritional value.
"Our cooks are hard working and great in the kitchen, they look after me too. We are thrilled at the award."
Little Acorns supports local businesses and has fresh meat delivered by a local butcher G Haigh, greengrocer J Gibb and Son delivers fresh vegetables and fresh bread is delivered too.
