ANGRY residents have hit out at the lack of action over a vandal-struck home in Scissett.
The property on Wakefield Road has been repeatedly attacked since it was left empty in early 2007.
But nearby residents said no action had been taken until last weekend when it was finally boarded up by the police.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “On a regular basis virtually all the many windows have been smashed.
“The whole frontage has been trashed.
“I am not aware that the police have ever investigated or made arrests in relation to this matter.
“The vandalism has been continuous and methodically regular.
“There has been no obvious intervention from the law until very recently.”
One neighbour told The Examiner the windows of the home had been left smashed in for months before the police had visited while another confirmed that the former residents had not been seen at the property since early 2007.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said they were aware of the problem and regularly patrolled the area.
