HUDDERSFIELD teenager Abi Fox has made it through to the finals of a national competition to find the "Face of 2005."

The Golcar 14-year-old is one of six finalists in the Sugar Rimmel Model Competition, chosen from thousands of entrants.

Back in October last year scouts from Storm Model Management and Rimmel scoured shopping centres across the UK and Ireland in the search for a new generation of supermodels.

Abi, a pupil at Colne Valley High School was spotted at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield and then selected for the final line-up. When organisers rang to tell Abi and her mum, Joyce that she had become a finalist she was understandably shocked. "I thought something bad had happened because my mum sounded really serious on the phone!" she said.

Abi and the other finalists were invited to attend a fashion photo shoot in London for the March issue of Sugar Magazine - readers of the issue will vote for the overall winner, who wins a trip to the United States as well as £500 and may be offered a modelling contract.

Abi told Sugar magazine that her style icon is Kate Moss and if she could be a celebrity she would choose to be Joss Stone.
