The arts and creativity touch all our lives daily without us even realising it. Everything around us has been designed, we watch TV, listen to the radio, read books and listen to music.
Without the arts our lives would be so much poorer and lack the colour and vibrancy which they bring.
This award salutes those who volunteer their time to ensure we can enjoy the arts, either as participants or audience members.
There are many artists in Huddersfield who help to make it a wonderful place to live and have established the town's reputation as one of the most creative places in the UK.
