DESPITE a computer glitch tickets for jazz legend Acker Bilk have sold out.

The musician will take to the stage at the Marsden Jazz Festival in October.

And when tickets went on sale on Saturday, they had sold out by the afternoon at the village box office.

Taru Sinclair of the jazz festival said: “We expected tickets to go quickly because it’s rare people can see Acker Bilk live.

“Unfortunately, Kirklees have been experiencing some problems with their internet systems over the last couple of days, which means that the online ticket sales have been effected.

“Despite this, the lovely people in LBT box office have been processing all the ticket requests by hand and we’ve still managed to sell out Acker Bilk.”

Founded in 1992, Marsden Jazz Festival is one of the UK’s longest established jazz festivals attracting thousands of music lovers.

Tickets for other acts including Jacqui Dankworth and the Stan Tracey Quartet are still available from the box office on 01484 430528.
