MAKE sure you're registered - or lose your vote.

That's the message from Kirklees election officials as they gear up for next year's local council poll on June 10.

Their plea came after the delivery of registration forms to the district's homes.

Staff are urging people to complete the forms and return them to be sure of a vote.

A council spokesman said: "It is important that households register now to ensure people can vote in next year's elections for Kirklees Council, when the whole council will be up for re-el- ection because of the recent election ward boundary review.

"Elections to the European Parliament will also be held on the same day so it is doubly important."

This year people can register in a new way.

If there are no changes to their details from last year, they can dial a freephone number on 0800 081 0158. People will need their forms to hand when they ring.

Anyone who has not received a form is being asked to contact electoral services on 01484 222400 or log on to the council's website on www.kirklees. gov.uk/electoralservices
