ACTOR Sir Patrick Stewart has been lined up for a new movie – backed by Huddersfield University.

The recently knighted Mirfield actor has given his backing to an international programme to promote the European Spallation Source (ESS) project – the world’s leading neutron source.

In a movie funded by the ESS Preparatory Phase Project, Sir Patrick appears briefly and provides the voice-over for a neutron trek into the depths of inner space, as seen by neutrons.

Sir Patrick, chancellor of the university, joined forces with the School of Applied Sciences on the movie, which introduces the €1.3billion ESS.

ESS The Movie will premiere at the Royal Library of Copenhagen, co-hosted by the university with ESS-Scandinavia, which recently succeeded in its bid for ESS to be built in the Swedish city of Lund.
