A WEST End actress and film-maker will appear at a Huddersfield conference as part of the Dignity in Care campaign.
Amanda Waring made the film What Do You See? in memory of her mother, Dame Dorothy Tutin, who died in 2001.
Dignity in Care was launched to promote respect and dignity in health and social care services by inspiring people to take action and challenge poor practices and attitudes.
The campaign focuses on attitudes to elderly people and those with mental health needs.
Ms Waring will attend the conference at the North Light Gallery, Armitage Bridge, on September 24.
Kirklees Council’s Cabinet member for adult services, Clr Margaret Bates, said: “Older people are not always treated with the respect they deserve.
“We are working locally to raise standards of care in residential homes and day care.”
Pupils from King James’s School, Almondbury have designed posters to promote the Dignity in Care campaign.
