IT’S proving to be a big hit!

Baldy’s Book, a collection of the blogs written by campaigning Examiner journalist Adrian Sudbury, is flying off the shelves.

The book only went on sale on Monday, but many copies have already been snapped up, from the Examiner office, from Waterstones’ bookshops in the town centre and by post.

All the proceeds from the book sales will go to the Anthony Nolan Trust, one of the two charities which backs bone marrow donors, a cause very dear to Adrian’s heart.

He lost his fight for life in August after battling leukaemia for almost two years.

He kept an online diary of his struggles, hopes and fears with his Baldy’s Blog on the Examiner website and they have now been collected together in the book.

Ged Rumfitt, manager of Waterstones’ Kingsgate store, said: “The book is amazingly popular. We have sold out of our first delivery, had another yesterday and have already put an order in for a third batch.

“We will also be promoting the book at the Examiner Literary Luncheon at the Galpharm next Tuesday.”

The lunch, which starts at noon, is being sponsored by florists Yorkshire Rose and Waterstones.

Tickets are £25 each and can be booked at the Examiner’s customer reception on Queen Street South or by calling 01484 430000 and asking for reception. The booking line will close at 11.30am on Friday.

Copies of Baldy’s Book, priced £7.99, can be bought at Waterstones or the Examiner office. They can be ordered online via www.merseyshop.com or by calling 0845 143001(£1.50 p & p).
