More than 20 support organisations for older people will come together for a special pensioners’ advice fair this week.
The event, to be held at Dewsbury Town Hall on Friday, February 19, will feature dozens of stalls offering advice on a range of issues such as benefits, health, safety and crime prevention.
Refreshments will be provided and the event runs from 1pm-3pm.
Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik arranged the event. He said: “I want to ensure that local pensioners don't miss out on payments and entitlements. This event is a great opportunity to do that and there will be plenty of information and advice for people to take away.
“It was a roaring success last year with 340 pensioners attending. I promised then to make this an annual event and from the response I have already had I know that the town hall will be packed out on Friday.”
