AMATEUR football clubs could win a facelift for their crumbling grounds thanks to a new competition.
Football League Trophy sponsors Johnstone’s Paints has launched the grass roots competition in a bid to spruce up non-league grounds and pitches across the country.
Sports clubs who wish to enter the Johnstone’s community club makeover initiative have until December 31 to upload a picture of their facilities in their current state to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy website.
They will also need to state which non-league they play in and give an explanation of why they think they deserve to win – in no more than 50 words.
A total of eight successful clubs will be shortlisted to receive a £300 voucher to spend at their local Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre.
Each of these clubs will then be displayed on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy website during January for fans to vote for an overall national winner who will not only receive an additional £1,000 Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre voucher, but also a well-deserved new year makeover courtesy of Johnstone's very own decorating team.
