A FORMER teacher who lost her job over a controversial book plans a book signing.
Leonora Rustamova, of Salendine Nook, has recently said she has no regrets about writing the controversial novel which ended her teaching career.
Leonora – also known as Miss Rusty – has just had a book published called Stop Don’t Read This, which is a fictional story based on Mrs Rustamova’s days teaching at a Calder High School in Mytholmroyd. It contains violence, drug abuse and the odd sexual scene.
The aim of the book was to get boys who were difficult to teach interested in reading – and it achieved its aim.
Leonora will be doing a book signing at Waterstone’s in Kingsgate, Huddersfield, on Saturday July 23 from 1pm to 3pm.
Stop Don’t Read This became available from bookshops and www.bluemoosebooks.com from July 13.
