THE family of Callum Parkinson has organised a fundraising disco and barbecue at The Star, Fenay Bridge.

The event, which starts at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 4, marks two years since Callum’s serious road accident.

The youngster suffered serious brain injuries after being knocked down near his home in Station Road, Fenay Bridge, in June 2009.

All proceeds will go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance whose prompt action helped to save the teenager’s life. Callum, who defied the odds to make an excellent recovery, will be attending the event.

Also taking part will be Alan ‘Booby’ Boothroyd who is running 40 marathons in 20 days between John O’Groat’s and Land’s End in August to raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

He will be accompanied on the run by Callum’s rugby coach Andrew ‘Spike’ MacGuire who will cycle alongside. Donations can be made on the website at www.justgiving.com/boobycallumspike
