THE Leeds-Bradford Airport went on sale today.
And it could mean millions for Kirklees Council coffers.
The international airport at Yeadon is owned by all five West Yorkshire councils - Kirklees, Calderdale, Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield.
All have agreed to sell their stakes and today the marketing of the airport began.
Experts predict the business will fetch at least £40m and possibly considerably more.
Interested bidders are likely to include the groups who already control some of Britain's other regional airports.
Kirklees Council has a 6% stake in the airport business.
