INVITED members of the public will be asked to contribute to a new exhibition at a Batley museum.

The second of five consultation sessions on Bagshaw Museum's exhibition Colours of Asia will be held on Sunday February 1.

The private arts workshops, run by Chol Theatre, are for invited participants from local Hindu, Sikh and Muslim communities.

The theme of the next session is Aladdin's Cave.

Participants are asked to bring along items from South Asia that are special to them or relate to their own history.

Families will be asked to talk about their object, photograph it and draw or write about it.

Artists Shanaz Gulzar, Kali Mann and Fahrat Rashid will be on hand to listen and record the stories, thoughts and information.

It is hoped a permanent South Asian Gallery will be created in the museum.
