TALENTED young performer Alicia Brady is a finalist in the Miss Dance of Great Britain contest, being held at Blackpool Opera House on June 10.

The 16-year-old, a pupil at Shelley College, secured her place in the competition after winning a Doncaster heat.

She hopes to wow judges with her unique and specially choreographed song and tap routine to musical classic I've Got Rhythm.

Alicia, who has attended the Adele Taylor School of Dance since the age of three, will be one of the youngest competitors taking part in the final.

A coach full of family and friends will travel to Blackpool to support her in the final.

Proud mum Veronica said: "It's quite a unique performance - I don't think anyone else in the competition will be singing and dancing at the same time.

"She's a very confident performer and I'm sure she'll do well-at the Doncaster heat the judges said she was an amazing performer for her age."

Alicia looks set to impress if her dancing track record is anything to go by.

She has won 14 national championships in tap dancing, and has been crowned the best in West Yorkshire and the north of England.
