MEMBERS of Slaithwaite Women’s Institute held a spring fair to raise funds for charity.

The event, held at the community centre on Bank Street, was well attended by both members of the group and the public.

There was a range of stalls on offer, including bric-a-brac, books, games, jewellery and refreshments and about £400 was raised.

It is the second year the group has held the fundraiser. Last year, proceeds went to Yorkshire Air Ambulance, while this year the group chose to support the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which is working to build a children’s respite centre and hospice at Brackenhall.

Slaithwaite WI meets at the community centre on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm.

New members are always welcome. For more information, contact the group’s treasurer Susan Fell on 01484 843562.
