A MUSIC student from Huddersfield has been chosen to record a track for a charity album.

Roger Davis, 26, studies at Brighton Institute of Modern Music (Bimm).

He and 14 others were chosen from more than 100 fellow students to have a track featured on the album How To Mend A Broken Pier Vol 2.

Bimm students made How To Mend A Broken Pier Vol 1 last year.

Both titles refer to Brighton's derelict West Pier.

Roger's track is one of 15 on Vol 2. It is called James Dean and features him playing guitar and singing.

The artists on Vol 2 were chosen by a panel of music industry professionals.

Vol 2 is on sale for £10 from www.bimm.co.uk or independent record stores.

Proceeds will be split between The Orpheus, a music centre in Surrey for disabled youngsters, and In Tune With Childline, which collects cash from musicians for the helpline.
