OOOOOOH ... René is back!

Huddersfield-born actor Gorden Kaye dons his apron once more as the French café owner as 'Allo 'Allo returns to our screens tomorrow.

Gorden, 66, and other members of the original cast will appear in a one-off special of the comedy.

The BBC classic farce about the Nazi occupation of France was a hit with audiences world-wide, and ran from 1982 to 1992.

The cast last performed together in a stage version of the show, which ended in 1996.

The spoof centred around womanising café owner René Artois who unwittingly became involved with the French Resistance. He also had to deal with the affections of tone-deaf wife Edith, waitresses Yvette and Maria and the camp Lt Gruber of the Gestapo.

The show was also famed for its catchphrases, including `Good Moaning' and `Leesen verrry carefully, I weel zay zis only wurnce'.

The long-running series concluded with the war reaching its end and the town being liberated.

The new episode follows René as he sets about writing his war memoirs - with a little 'elp from some well-known patrons of Café René.

It was filmed in front of a studio audience, who wore costumes to celebrate the show's slapstick tradition.

Gorden, who was born in Huddersfield, and the rest of the cast, slip easily back into the roles which made them household names.

Much-loved characters, including sexy waitress Yvette (Vicki Michelle), diminutive Mimi (Sue Hodge) and Officer Crabtree (Arthur Bostrom) make a welcome return.

Fans of the show will finally find out exactly what Yvette gets up to with her feather duster, and what's underneath the raincoat of Michelle "of the Resistance" Dubois (Kirsten Cooke).

And look out for all the show's infamous catchphrases!

The 90-minute special includes a documentary, featuring clips from the original series.

The show's director, writers, and celebrities share their views on why 'Allo 'Allo has become such a massive success.
