ART by two schools went on show alongside a collection of treasured Bibles.

Year seven students from King James School and Moor End Academy exhibited their work with a display of copies of Bible front pieces and modern translations.

Almondbury Church warden Hilary Pollard said: “It was a fantastic day. Visitors were extremely impressed with the work that the children had done and loved the display of Bibles.

“We had a facsimile dating back to the 1400s and after that we had Eric Gill’s four gospels, which were much admired.”

Gill was a sculptor, typeface designer and stonecutter.
