Headteacher Janet Tolley had not had time to analyse the results when the Examiner visited Almondbury Community School this morning.
However, there were some smiling faces from students who had called in for their results.

Although there were some individual disappointments, many students were relieved that their hard work had paid off and they had got the grades they wanted.
One of the top students was Katherine Lennon who achieved five A*, two A and two B grades. .
She is going to Greenhead College in September to study A levels in physics, chemistry, maths and further maths.
Jack Senior was on the whole delighted with his nine GCSEs, which comprised one A, seven Bs and a C grade.
He was, however, disappointed with his B in PE, having been on track to achieve an A*.
He was especially happy to have passed his maths exam, which he though he had failed.
He said: “I did a mass of revising and I’m relieved to have passed everything.”
He added that his friends all seemed happy with their results.
Jack now goes on to take A levels at Huddersfield New College.
Libby Brown was over the moon with her five GCSEs, which included an A* in art.
She said: “I didn’t used to be any good at art, so I tried harder and now my hard work has paid off.”
Libby will also study A levels at Huddersfield New College in September.
