PUPILS in Almondbury have been collecting football shirts and sports equipment to send to young people in Africa.

Almondbury High School and Language College pupils are taking part in the scheme run by local charity Christian African Relief Trust (CART) which aims to send much needed sports gear and equipment to schools in Africa.

The collection has been organised by staff member Davis Dyer who asked pupils to donate football shirts and boots that they’d grown out of or equipment they no longer needed.

Pupils have also donated pens, pencils and other items of stationary to send to the schools in support of CART’s wider campaign.
