HUDDERSFIELD anarchists have attacked a town centre building – with soap.
Masked cleaners raided the filthy frontage of the former Co-op building on the corner of New Street and Castlegate.
Four members of Huddersfield Anarchist League cleaned the windows of the unused 1930s building on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: “This building holds a proud history and it’s a terrible waste of it to fall into disrepair. We just want to do something about that.”
The building was opened in 1936 and built to designs by architects W A Johnson and J W Cropper.
In later years it was used as the Heaven and Hell nightclub until December, 2004.
