A DENBY DALE businesswoman has taken up a new role.

Award-winning entrepreneur Jo Haigh has been appointed a non-executive director of Sheffield-based magnet manufacturer Anchor Magnets.

Ms Haigh joins Anchor Magnets at a formative period in the company’s 25-year history.

The firm, which has a turnover exceeding £4m and employs more than 40 staff, provides products including fridge magnets to a wide range of industries throughout Europe.

It is the only European organisation to recycle flexible magnets – potentially saving thousands of tonnes from landfill.

Ms Haigh, a high-profile entrepreneur and best selling author, already heads the corporate finance division at Sheffield and London-based accountancy and financial management firm MGR.

She brings a wealth of experience to her non-executive director role.

A winner of the Institute of Directors Yorkshire & Humber Business Advisor of the Year, she is also a partner at training and consultancy organisation FDS.

Ms Haigh joins Anchor Magnets board members Peter Holmes, Mike Burton and Neil O’Keefe as the company continues to develop new export markets and keep a watchful eye on potential acquisition targets.
