OVER 100 guests raised cash for charity at a sell-out ball in memory of a talented dancer and sportsman.
‘Andrew’s Night’, at Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top raised cash for Epilepsy Action and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Epilepsy sufferer Andrew Spencer, 33, (above) died suddenly at his Waterloo home, in July, 2008, although it is not known if his condition contributed to his death.
The Andrew Spencer Trust, set up by his parents, Ray and Lesley, has held concerts, balls, an activity day and other events since Andrew’s death to celebrate his memory and to help other young people.
Saturday’s event included live music, a disco, bingo, raffle and casino tables.
Members of the Trust presented a cheque for £1,500 to CRY and four epilepsy alarms – worth £1,000 – to Epilepsy Action.
