TWO young men rescued an angler in difficulties at Milnsbridge. Matt Whitehead and Joff Reaney, both 20, had been working at a unit at Holme Mills in Britannia Road when they were asked to help. An angler fishing with two friends on the canal had slipped down a banking. His ankle injuries left him unable to get back up to the path. His friends went to get help and recruited Matt and Joff, who used ropes to help haul the man back to the top of the banking.
