PUPILS at Skelmanthorpe First School had help from an expert when they used their artistic talents to create animal sculptures.

Children in years four and five recycled household junk when they worked with local sculptor Mick Kirby-Geddes for three days.

Mick is pictured with Gemma Radley and Daniel Lockwood with some of the work that was produced.

About 36 youngsters collected rubbish including milk cartons, yoghurt pots and polystyrene containers to make animal heads.

The sculptures were then decorated and will be displayed in a gallery at the school.
