MORE than 100 people have been arrested since Monday, in the last phase of West Yorkshire Police's winter blitz against criminals.

The third and final phase of the Winter Crime Crackdown is running this week, targeting travelling criminals from outside the area who come in and commit burglaries, robberies and vehicle crime. The tally by yesterday afternoon was 115.

Police also recovered a large amount of cash and three stolen cars. One had been taken during a burglary in Huddersfield in January.

Two previous weeks of action have resulted in almost 1,000 arrests.
