TEAMS of fundraisers are urging males of all ages to ‘Run For It’ on Sunday, June 16.

And by backing the Greenhead Park event on Father’s Day, they’ll be doing some good too – for Round Table, which is organising the fundraising event in aid of Kirkwood Hospice.

The 5k fun run is for men and boys only, similar to the women’s Race for Life. It follows on from last year when participants raised over £3,500.

Elland Round Table vice chairman Richard Barker said: “Last year’s event raised thousands of pounds for Kirkwood Hospice’s Capital Appeal, which will be used to refurbish and extend their in-patient unit.

“We will build on the success of last year to make Run For It raise more of the much-needed funds for the hospice.

“Hopefully we’ll all get a bit fitter, have a laugh and raise plenty of sponsorship along the way.

“Greenhead Park is booked and we are now ready to start accepting registrations. That’s why we need as many men and boys to sign up as soon as possible and take part in this event.”

The race is for men of all ages and last year generations of families from toddlers to grandads walked and ran the course together.

The runs starts at 10.30am.
