POLICE have again appealed for witnesses to a motorway crash which left two people badly hurt.

The couple were in a blue Fiat Punto which was involved in the accident on the M62 between Ainley Top and Brighouse.

The smash, which also involved two lorries, was at 2.10pm last Thursday on the eastbound side of the motorway, about a mile from Junction 25 at Clifton.

The woman passenger in the car was cut free from the wreckage by firefighters and flown to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious chest injuries.

Her condition yesterday was said to be serious but stable.

The man driving the car was also freed by fire crews and is in a stable condition at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
