POLICE are making a fresh appeal for witnesses who saw a man punched in the face at a taxi rank.
The attack happened on Christmas Eve in Lord Street, Huddersfield, between 12.45 and 1am.
The victim was punched in the face near a taxi rank and the attacker then ran off towards St Peter’s Church.
The victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment for facial injuries.
Extensive inquiries have been carried out and police describe the suspect as white, 30 to 40-years-old, 5ft 11in tall and wearing a blue hooded top and dark jeans.
At the time of the incident the taxi rank was very busy and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Huddersfield South Neighbourhood Policing Team via the non-emergency number 101.
