A NEW course at Huddersfield Technical College aiming to help people to get the most out of their Apple Mac computers is a hit.

So much so that another one is scheduled for this year.

Classes running for 10 weeks were set up in response to the growing number of people buying Macs for the home rather than PCs.

The college teaches students everything from installation, emailing people, burning CDs/DVDs and troubleshooting.

A modern IT suite with the latest Macs at the college's School of Art and Design, in Highfields provides students with access to up-to-date equipment in order to develop their computing skills.

Course tutor Colin Rose said: "Macs are becoming more popular, but there are still very few adult education courses in the country.

"This course is already proving popular with locals, but also with students from outside the Huddersfield area."

The next course begins in September. Details may be announced earlier if there is a high demand for places.

The lessons are open to everyone. Anyone interested should phone 01484 437150.
