HUDDERSFIELD University students are to host an Arabian Nights-style event to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The Rock The Bazaar event will take place at the Quayside building on Firth Street, Aspley, from 7pm on Sunday, May 18.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a mint tea and Turkish delight reception, followed by entertainment from jugglers, fire performers.

There will also be treatments such as Indian head massage and henna tattooing.

There will be an auction and everything will take place in surroundings decorated in authentic Arabian style.

The event has been organised by a group of students who are in their second year of an events management degree course.

One of the group, Ian Cunningham, said: “One of our members had been to a similar event and thought it was great, so we decided to do this.

“We chose Barnardo’s to benefit as they have a long-standing relationship with the university.”

Tickets cost £15 and can be bought from Ian on 07894 508135 or by visiting www.rockthebazaar.com
