A DROP-IN event aimed at getting blind and visually impaired adults more involved in sport and physical activity is being held at Leeds Road Sports Complex.

As well as trying a range of activities such as archery and tandem cycling, there will be various stands promoting exercise and gadgets to help with physical activity and providing information about sporting opportunities locally. It will also be an opportunity for participants to have their say in how they can join in.

The event is being run by Kirklees Council, Kirklees Active Leisure and voluntary group 'better future for the blind' with funding from Kirklees Community Liaison.

It is free to attend and people can drop-in at any time.

The event takes place on Saturday, August 30, from 10am to 1pm.

A buffet lunch will be provided.

A bus stop is clearly marked outside the venue which is completely accessible. From Huddersfield Bus Station stand Z, take Service no 229, which leaves on the hour and 20 past the hour.
