COMMUNITY safety and policing in Mirfield will be top of the agenda at a meeting later this month.

A representative from West Yorkshire police will give a talk at Kirklees Council's area committee.

Bill Swap from Kirklees Council's community safety unit will also be speaking about the work of his unit.

Also there will be Paul Smith from West Yorkshire Trading Standards.

He will speak about projects to tackle bogus callers and rogue traders.

The meeting will take place on January 17 from 7.15pm at the Salvation Army headquarters in Huddersfield Road, Mirfield.

Organisers want people living in the town to go along.
