Armed robbers who had their faces covered with scarves threatened staff and a customer inside a betting shop.

The two men entered the Betfred shop in Elland wielding a crowbar last night (Weds) before robbing cash.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to the shop on Southgate at around 8.50pm following reports of the robbery.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Two male suspects entered the premises carrying a crowbar and threatened staff and a customer.

“Money was stolen from the premises and they fled the scene on foot towards Coronation Road in Elland.”

The two men are described as white, between 5ft 8” to 5ft 11”, and of medium build. They were wearing dark grey hoodies, black gloves and black scarves over their faces.
